ITE Informational Reports (IRs) are informative, research-based publications that provide transportation professionals with background, context, and insight on topics of interest to the profession. Unlike standards or Recommended Practices, Informational Reports do not establish requirements or recommended approaches; instead, they present information intended to support understanding, exploration, and informed professional judgment.
Informational Reports support the profession by documenting emerging issues, summarizing research findings, sharing case studies, and highlighting lessons learned across areas such as safety, traffic engineering, planning, operations, resilience, data and analytics, and emerging technologies. They serve as a valuable resource for practitioners, researchers, and decision-makers seeking to stay informed, explore new concepts, and better understand evolving transportation challenges and opportunities.
