NCITE and ITSO are excited to co-host the last section meeting of 2026! Join us for a presentation on the TH 7 Queue Warning System, an innovative safety initiative developed through the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT)'s Innovative Ideas Program. The project deployed a machine vision-based queue detection system at the intersection of TH 7 and Texas Avenue in St. Louis Park to address rear-end crashes and near-miss incidents caused by limited sight distance and recurring traffic queues. The presentation will summarize system design, implementation, performance results, key findings, and lessons learned from the evaluation of real-time queue detection and automated driver warning technologies.
The meeting will be held in person on Thursday, October 15th in the University of Minnesota's Civil Engineering Building with food provided for in-person attendees. The meeting schedule is as follows:
