Have you wanted to do K-12 STEM outreach in your local area but don’t know where to start? Are you a seasoned K-12 STEM outreach volunteer looking for new tips and tricks to up your game? The future of the transportation industry depends on K-12 students pursuing transportation career opportunities. Most children don’t know a transportation professional and have never seen one on TV or in the movies. So many of us in the transportation field absolutely love our work. Because of that passion, we feel that transportation professionals are uniquely qualified to help K-12 students learn about the wide range of transportation careers. However, not all transportation professionals are familiar with the resources and techniques for transportation-related K-12 STEM outreach.

Through this interactive workshop, attendees will learn why K-12 STEM outreach is so important to the future of our profession, how to provide high-value STEM content with tips and best practices from experienced STEM outreach volunteers, and lessons learned from hands-on K-12 STEM activities. Attendees will also learn how to get started with STEM outreach and explore helpful resources for developing and delivering effective K-12 STEM programs.
