ITE Webinar: Ethics for Transportation Professionals

This webinar is led by the ITE Committee on Ethics in the Transportation Profession.

Webinar Description:

In this webinar, participants will begin by learning about definitions of ethics in the context of their personal beliefs and professional responsibilities. The ITE Canons and NSPE Codes of Ethics will be introduced, and similarities and differences between the two will be reviewed.

The remainder of the webinar will involve recent case studies from the ITE Committee on Ethics in the Transportation Profession and the NSPE Board of Ethical Review. Through presentations and polling questions, participants will explore the ethical aspects of each case, identify applicable sections of the ITE Canons of Ethics and the NSPE Code of Ethics, and learn about the appropriate actions to take in each situation presented. Participants will also be given the opportunity to pose questions to presenters. This case study approach encourages thoughtful reflection and dialogue, empowering participants to confidently handle ethical situations in their careers.

The content of this webinar will be drawn from an in-person workshop held recently at the ITE Annual Meeting in Detroit, Michigan.
