The City of Guelph is advancing an equity?centered Vision Zero Action Plan that aims to eliminate severe injuries and fatalities on city streets. This presentation explores how Guelph is integrating equity principles into collision analysis, street design, community engagement, and priority?setting to ensure that road safety improvements benefit residents who face the greatest mobility barriers.
Attendees will learn how the Vision Zero Action Plan identifies disproportionate risks for people who walk, cycle, roll, or rely on transit, and how the City is directing investments toward historically underserved neighborhoods. The session will highlight the role of equity data, lived?experience insights, and cross?department collaboration in shaping safer, more accessible transportation networks.
