Tour: Exploring Transit-Oriented Development and Complete Streets on the Red Line

Sunday, January 11
10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. ET
Meet on the northeast corner of 9th Street, NW and Massachusetts Avenue, NW

The tour will highlight the history and impact of Metro’s first infill station and one of the best examples of transit-oriented development in the country. Funded by the District of Columbia, the Federal Government, and private investment, NoMa station shows how a jurisdiction can leverage transit to unlock the development potential of a neighborhood. The tour will then travel to two other nearby stops on the Red Line (Rhode Island Avenue and Brookland) to discuss different types of TODs, changes to the transit facilities to support TOD, and how the TODs were designed to connect into the surrounding multi-modal network. We’ll also take in Complete Streets design improvements that are being incorporated into the station areas.

No charge for the tour. You will have to pay for the transit ride – you can pay directly at the gate with a contactless credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc.

No sign up necessary but please email Adam if you’re interested
