Series Description:
This 10-part Road Safety Fundamental Webinar series highlights various aspects of road safety as part of ITE’s continued focus on Vision Zero and the goal to reduce and eventually eliminate fatalities. Presented by experts in their field, this series will have a topic appropriate for all levels. There is a suite of introductory webinars for those not familiar with road user safety as well as modules discussing safety evaluations and safety for all road users.

Webinar Description:

Throughout the United States and Canada, the development and application of data-driven safety analysis (DDSA) tools and techniques are having a profound impact on the profession and how projects are planned and developed.

Over the past decade, existing tools have been refined and new methods have been developed to aid practitioners in evaluating the safety performance of various transportation investments and policy decisions. Commensurate policies and guidance have been developed that describe the role and use of various safety analysis tools, while attempting to emphasize the appropriate scale and scope of supporting analytical efforts.

This webinar will provide an overview and briefly introduce several of the available tools, methods, resources, and technologies currently and newly available to the profession in the conduct of roadway safety analysis.
