Great Streets BTV – Revitalizing Main Street – Drew Gingras, PE & Evan Detrick, PE
Please join us for a presentation on the reimagining of Burlington’s Main Street into a re-balanced, multimodal, resilient and sustainable “Great Street”. The City of Burlington and their consultant, VHB, will present the history of Main Street’s redesign, beginning with 2016’s initial concepting for the corridor, and concluding with the design and construction of improvements (currently underway). The presentation will cover lessons learned, challenges faced, and how they were overcome, culminating in a story of what it truly takes to deliver a complex revitalization of an urban main street in Vermont.
Validating Collection Methods for and Quantification of Travel Time Delay Through Work Zones Across Vermont – Jim Sullivan & Ben Tietze, PE
Vermont specifications identify acceptable work zone travel time delays, but they don’t consider context, measurement procedures, or how to mitigate them. This project seeks to validate how we measure and quantify travel-time delays in work zones across Vermont and make recommendations to improve current and future guidance.
