NCITE & ITS-MN are excited to have Ethan Peterson, MnDOT’s State Pavement & Crashworthy Engineer present on “Pavement Marking Pattens and Widths – Humans vs Machines”
MnDOT has studies investigating appropriate pavement marking dimensions and contrast with respect to human vision and driver comfort. There is a concurrent effort that will also evaluate the implications of pavement marking dimensions on machine vision technology that is used in Advanced Driver Assist System’s (ADASs) and AVs. The results of these studies will provide insight as to how Agencies can effectively leverage its resources to provide pavement markings that effectively meet the needs of all road users.
This event will be hosted at MnDOT Waters Edge, if you can’t make it in person and would like a virtual link, please Email jake.eisinger@co.washington.mn.us
