Learn about 2 recent updates to transportation impact assessment guidelines that incorporate multi-modal transportation in two forward thinking cities - Washington, DC's Guidance for Comprehensive Transportation Review (CTR) and San Francisco's Transportation Impact Analysis Guidelines. You will be provided an overview of what the updated guidelines contain in each city, how they plan to use these guidelines to improve transportation analysis in site development, and why both cities decided to undertake the guideline updates that consider multi-modal transportation in their impact analysis process.
Hear from the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) on how and why the CTR Guidance, adopted in June 2019, shifts away from evaluating throughput and delay for automobile drivers to requiring an on-site parking evaluation based on DDOT-preferred maximum parking ratios, a multi-modal network analysis, and implementing the person-trip generation methodology.
