ITE and AARP Join Forces for Pittsburgh Pedestrian Safety Audit

A safety audit of older pedestrians was performed at several city intersections in Pittsburgh, PA, USA in conjunction with the ITE 2007 Annual Meeting and Exhibit. A pilot project by ITE and AARP, the audit coupled the expertise of traffic engineers attending the meeting and the observations of four older Pittsburgh residents who routinely navigate the city's intersections. For more details regarding the Pittsburgh audit and the corresponding news article, visit the Pittsburgh Post Gazette® Web site at http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/07221/808162-85.stm.
