■ Denver selected to host the DNC August 25 to 28, 2008
■ Venue was selected to be the Pepsi Center for all events including the Acceptance Speech
■ Monthly coordination planning meetings conducted
■ Table top exercises held
■ Venue Changed to INVESCO Field around the week of July 14, 2008
■ Threat Level assessed and determined that Interstate 25 should close around the week of July 28
■ Agencies began to discuss a new plan for security around INVESCO and confirmed I-25 should close in August

- Redo the last 11 months of work in three weeks....

■ Time Line
- Set the first cone at 5:30PM on 1-70,1-25 and US6
-Detailed MHT's and each ramp manned with police and maintenance personnel
- Last car exited the interstate at about 6:00PM (we planned for 1 hour)
- Traffic was very light no queues formed on I-70 and I-25
(good PR)
- No accidents and breakdowns
- Loaded plows placed on the road
- Secret Service swept the area at about 6:30 to 7:00pm
