Who is this AZTech, anyway?
- AZTech is the model deployment and regional management of an Intelligent Transportation System developed for the Phoenix Metropolitan area (Moving Forward Together; www.aztech.org)
- The MDI began in 1996
- AZTech is still alive today, with an ever-expanding presence (regional in thinking; open forum; C2C in scope)
- Partners include State agencies (ADOT, DPS), County (MCDOT), regions (MAG), Cities (many/most), media (radio and TV), and more.
- Committees; volunteers with a common vision such as:
• AZTech Executive Committee
• AZTech Operations Committee
• AZTech ATIS

511 Enhancement Project
- AZTech is leading an effort to enhance both the 511 phone and az511 .gov Internet systems
• Ingest data from outside ADOT
- City and County arterial data
- CAD such as City of Phoenix Fire Dispatch, which automatically sends large arterial events to 511/az511 .gov (~400 events/month)
• Create Regional Reports as a way to disseminate arterial data
• Expand Internet mapping to modern, Google-like system— complete with aerial photography

511 Special Events
- At a time when ADOT's 511 system only offered Floodgate messages, an AZTech need was to be able to create broadcast messages for large events
- Special Events (PIR, FBR, National Football games, Barrett Jackson Car Auction, etc.) was the creation from this need; providing a mechanism for recording traffic-related messages on the 511 system for events that draw 30,000 or more visitors in a single day
- In concert with event outreach, Special Event recordings are typically heard by over 10% of all 511 callers during a Special Event activation
