Roadway Audit Team Started in 2003
• Goal: Further improve the highways for users
- Cover 50,000 km/yr
- Focus on road works, incidents, and events with major impact on traffic
- 24/7, video used to document observations
Example of results:

Dutch Low Cost Enhancements: Limit Regular Congestion - Example

Continuous line to the left - at entry or exit lanes to prevent through traffic from changing lanes unnecessarily, allowing more room for merging vehicles.

Slide separator

Dutch Low Cost Enhancements: Limit Regular Congestion - Example
• Merging at speed: Entry markings are modified to entering vehicles can not enter the main lanes immediately.
• This helps truck get up to speed before merging, promoting traffic flow. .

Projects to Limit Incident Congestion
■ Shortening tow truck response time
■ Calamity Screens
■ Flashing lights 'off' at collision scenes
■ Permanent diversion routes
■ Height warnings before last exit
