About the Institute of Transportation Engineers
The Institute of Transportation Engineers is an international educational and scientific association of transportation professionals who are responsible for meeting mobility and safety needs. ITE facilitates the application of technology and scientific principles to research, planning, functional design, implementation, operation, policy development and management for any mode of transportation. Through its products and services, ITE promotes professional development of its members, supports and encourages education, stimulates research, develops public awareness programs and serves as a conduit for the exchange of professional information.
Founded in 1930, ITE is a community of transportation professionals acting as a source for expertise, knowledge and ideas. ITE is a gateway to knowledge and advancement through meetings, seminars and publications and its network of nearly 17,000 members working in more than 92 countries.
General Policy
Terms: Net 30 days from date of invoice. One and one-half percent per month
interest charged to overdue accounts.
Commission: To recognized advertising agencies, 15 percent of gross
billing on display space and color if payment is made within established terms. No
commission on positions available advertisements, special charges on art work,
conversions, printing, back-up and inserting.
Discounts: Two percent on net if paid within 10 days of invoice date.
Responsible advance notification will be given of any rate changes. Advertisers under
contract at the time of the rate change will be protected at the contract rate for the
duration of the contract. Space used within a 12-month period shall be determinative of
any short rate adjustments due from or rebates due to advertiser.
Bills rendered upon publication. Publisher requires prepayment from advertisers or agencies without established credit with
publisher.
Service will be suspended on accounts more than 60 days old and will not resume until all
balances are paid. Publisher will initiate formal collection action on all amounts
more than 60 days old. Costs associated with formal collection procedures will be assumed by
the advertiser or agency.
The advertisement of any product which does not conform with ITE's
technical standards will not be accepted for publication in ITE Journal. Advertising
of new products or devices may be accepted provided no false or misleading
claims are made.
Publication of an advertisement does not imply endorsement of any product or
service by ITE.
All advertising is accepted subject to the terms and provisions of the current rate
card.
Advertisers and their agencies assume liability for all content of advertisements
printed and for any claims which may arise from their advertising.
Publisher reserves the right to reject any advertisement.

Printing: Web offset. Electronic files required. Negatives (right-reading, emulsion side down),
positives and camera-ready artwork are accepted, but additional fees will be
charged to convert film or hard copies of ads to electronic media. Proof must be supplied with all
ads. 133-line screen preferred; 120- to 150-line screen accepted. Publisher does not
accept responsibility for materials that do not conform to the specifications.
Electronic ad submission
Binding: Saddle-stitched
Original Artwork: Publisher is not responsible for original artwork
submitted for use in preparing publication mechanicals. Negatives and other media kept for
one year and then destroyed unless called for.
Liability for Customer Materials: Publisher will make every reasonable
effort to safeguard customer materials but in no event shall our liability for loss of or
damage to negatives, prints, etc., exceed the replacement cost of the media (negative,
print, etc.). Publisher assumes no liability whatsoever for loss of or damage to original
artwork.

Published monthly. Mailed (periodical rate) first week of the month. Subscribers
usually receive by the second week of the month.
Closing date for insertion orders for all but Positions Available/Wanted
advertising orders: 15th day two months preceding publication date. Mechanical
materials for orders must be furnished by the 30th day two months preceding publication
date. i.e. December 15 for the February issue. Cancellation date: 15th day two months preceding publication.
