Trial Implementation of a Leading Pedestrian Interval: Lessons Learned

Many cities have implemented the leading pedestrian interval (LPI), which has been reported to improve pedestrian safety at signalized intersections. This feature evaluates a trial LPI deployment in Anaheim, CA, USA. The proportion of compromised pedestrian crossings increased after the LPI was deployed. |

The purpose of this study was to review and develop improvements to current SMS practices in Taiwan through partnership, funding, organization, uniformity, education and monitoring.
