Young Consultants Award: Monroe County Department of Transportation ITS Camera Deployment and Systems Integration Evaluation

In the late 1990s, the Monroe County DOT initiated a project to integrate ITS technologies into its traffic management infrastructure to improve traffic signal operations. Until recently, MCDOT lacked real-time visual traffic surveillance capability at its regional traffic operations center. That need is being addressed under the ITS Camera Deployment and Systems Integration Project.
