Prepared by the ITS Council Committee on Operations and Management of Intelligent Transportation Systems. The intent in developing this recommended practice for Operations and Management of Intelligent Transportation Systems was to develop guidelines to be used by ITS professionals to assess and further their own operations and management needs and practices. It was felt that the process should involve those responsible for O&M. Three national conferences, comments from ITE members, and evaluations from 12 agency test sites formed the basis for these recommended practices. This document was developed by, with, and for those who operate and manage systems.
