Kay Fitzpatrick, P.E., FITE, Research Engineer, Texas Transportation Engineer, College Station, TX, USA

Kay has more than 20 years of research experience in the fields of safety, geometric design, and traffic operations. Dr. Fitzpatrick recently completed the TCRP/NCHRP project on Improving Pedestrian Safety at Unsignalized Roadway Crossings, which recommended selected engineering treatments to improve safety for pedestrians and modifications to the MUTCD pedestrian traffic signal warrant. She also recently finished TxDOT projects that developed an Urban Intersection Design Guide and Traffic Operations and Safety at Schools, Recommended Guidelines. She is the chair of the ITE TENC Committee 106-01 on Survey of Practice for Signing and Markings near Schools.
