ITE Professional
Development
ITE is currently seeking accreditation of
its professional development training programs from the International
Association of Continuing Education and Training. If approved, ITE will
abide by the following policies
and will provide learner records upon request.

The
Institute of Transportation Engineers, with its partner Learn.com, offers affordable, convenient learning
opportunities for transportation professionals that can be
accessed from office or home computers. More

American Society for
Engineering Education
This site is a guide for high school students and others interested in engineering and
engineering technology careers. By exploring these pages, you can learn about the
different engineering and engineering technology fields, interesting people who got their
start as engineers, what engineers actually do, and how to get (and pay for) an
engineering education.
Consortium
for ITS Training and Education
The Consortium for ITS Training and Education (CITE) has developed a
new
course which might be of interest to ITE members. It is called
:"Applied Systems Engineering for Advanced Transportation
Projects." The course was designed for transportation professionals
interested in broadening their knowledge of planning, designing and
implementing ITS projects. The course provides students with an
appreciation of the principles of systems engineering and its application
to ITS projects. It also introduces them to the techniques of systems
integration associated with regional systems.
GDI Annual Technical Seminar
An invitation to the GDI Annual Technical Seminar is extended to anyone
in engineering, consulting, systems integrating, designing, maintaining and
planning of traffic systems that wants to explore what's new, how to use it
and what are the cost considerations. Come and explore "The
Challenge and Solutions". Among the topics to be covered are
fiber optic, wireless, hard wired, video and networking. Suggestions
will be made on how to stitch existing infrastructure together with new
technologies for a complete network.

for additional information.
ITS Berkeley -- Technology Transfer
Program
Provides a program of professional training, conferences, workshops, and technical
assistance in the areas of traffic operations; infrastructure maintenance; transportation
planning and management; airport operations, planning, and management; and traffic
safety.
Local Technical Assistance
Program (LTAP)
The Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP)
serves as the technology transfer effort of the Federal Highway
Administration's Office of Professional Development. The LTAP mission is to
stimulate active, progressive, and cost effective transfer of bridge/highway
technology and to provide technical assistance to local and urban
governments. A network of LTAP centers brings technology transfer services,
products, and educational resources to the local level.
National Highway Institute
Conducts a variety of training and education programs.
Texas Transportation Institute
It’s not just about building a road anymore. Recent advances in
technology have increased the knowledge and skills that transportation
professionals need to work effectively. And our children will have to
know even more. The success of transportation depends on earlier and
more advanced training for future professionals so they can design,
plan, manage, operate, build and maintain the 21st century
transportation system.
TRANSPEED Program
The TRANSPEED Program, administered by the University of Washington, is
an on-going series of short courses, workshops and on-site training in transportation
engineering and planning.
