This year the ITE Transportation Consultants Council’s membership will transition from transportation consulting firms to individual members of the Institute. The council is responsible for overseeing the development of programs and projects regarding technical and management issues affecting consultants engaged in transportation and traffic engineering.

The Consultants Council educates its members on issues facing the profession, such as linking land use and transportation, traffic calming, pedestrian safety, intelligent transportation systems, congestion management strategies and designing livable streets. The council also sponsors the annual Young Consultant’s Award and the keynote speaker at ITE’s Annual Meeting and Exhibit. Members of the Consultants Council are kept abreast of issues of interest through the council’s newsletter and the Council is open to all members of ITE regardless of employer.
