The Outreach subcommittee promotes the services and functions of the Intelligent Traffic Signal Operations committee to local transportation agencies. It coordinates and works closely with the ITE Public Agency Council, Traffic Engineering Council and Transportation Consultants Council on promoting awareness of the committee’s offerings to the traffic engineering staff of public agencies. The subcommittee also collects benefit/cost information on signal operations improvements to assist local agencies in educating elected officials of the benefits of efficient traffic signal operations. This education effort is intended to help agencies secure funding for making improvements to their transportation systems.
