Welcome to my campaign website, and thank you for taking the time to stop by and learn more about my credentials and vision for ITE. This year marks the 30-year anniversary of my involvement in ITE, and active member participation is the centerpiece of my vision for the organization. I have known Gene Wilson for over twenty years, and encourage you to visit his website at www.ite.org as well. By visiting our websites, you are doing your part to ensure that the vision of “You, Me & ITE: Working Together” becomes a reality.
I attended the Missouri Valley Section of the Institute of Transportation (MOVITE) spring meeting the first week of April. MOVITE along with the Illinois, Wisconsin, and North Central Sections comprise District 4 of ITE. On Wednesday I attended the Executive Board meeting in the evening, and the next morning had the opportunity to attend technical sessions. I delivered a lunchtime presentation to MOVITE members, and later attended the District’s annual banquet at Gilcrease Museum.

I attended the ITE Southern District (SDITE) annual meeting in Charleston, SC the first week of April. For those who may not know, SDITE is comprised of eight sections – Alabama, Deep South (Mississippi and Louisiana), Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, Tennessee, South Carolina, and Virginia – as well as student chapters. On Tuesday, I delivered a presentation to SDITE members at the meeting’s luncheon, and served as a judge for their annual student traffic bowl. I also attended sessions and participated in a boat tour of the Port of Charleston. On Wednesday I was able to attend a morning session prior to departing for Tulsa, OK for the ITE Missouri Valley Section (MOVITE) spring meeting.
The slogan of this year’s ITE Technical Conference and Exhibit – “Making a Difference in Transportation Safety” – is a topic near and dear to my heart. Throughout my professional career I have gravitated towards transportation safety improvement programs, particularly those that take a multimodal approach to the safety of cyclists and pedestrians in addition to auto drivers, passengers and transit riders.

I attended the Executive Committee meeting on Thursday, and on Friday attended the day-long International Board of Direction (IBOD) strategic planning meeting. I also attended the IBOD meeting on Saturday, where we discussed the financial report, international programs, student membership, and other topics. I had a busy day of council meetings on Sunday, and delivered a presentation on my vision for ITE on Monday.
Next stop…Charleston, South Carolina for the SDITE Meeting!
