SOCIAL AND GUEST FUNCTIONS

All guest tours will depart from and return to the Hyatt Regency Vancouver Hotel. All technical tours will depart from and return to the Vancouver Convention Centre. A minimum number of participants is required for each tour. Should these minimums not be met, tours may be canceled and all monies refunded.

Vancouver City Discovery Tour 8/8/2010 12:30 PM-4:00 PM

You will begin your tour of Vancouver’s must see attractions in Stanley Park, a 1,000-acre rainforest in the heart of the city with sites of the Lions Gate Bridge stretching over the Inner Harbour with views of the North Shore from Prospect Point. Next stop is Granville Island; home to the Public Market. A trip through eclectic Chinatown and historic Gastown caps off this tour.

Whistler Resort Day Trip 8/10/2010 8:00 AM-4:30 PM

Located in the spectacular Coastal Mountains of British Columbia, just 75 miles north of Vancouver, lies Whistler; a charming alpine village and the site of the 2010 Winter Olympics. Travel to Whistler via luxury motorcoach from the waters of Howe Sound northwards through tall stands of timber and glacier carved peaks and you understand how this route has come to be known as the Sea to Sky Highway. The world-class Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre embodies the spirit of partnership between the local Squamish and Lil’wat Nations and their shared values around preserving and sharing their traditional cultures. This three-storey, 30,400 square foot complex is nestled on a river-side forested site and is home to an impressive art and exhibit display that will engage your mind and spirit. Tour the building with a professional Squamish or Lil’wat guide providing cultural context for the history, arts and culture on display; view a multimedia film; witness artists at work; explore nature in the surrounding forest walk nature loop alive with indigenous plants; and have an opportunity to bring home an authentic piece of First Nations artwork from the gallery shop.
